Debat a l'ONU sobre drets humans i salut mental

Els dies 14 i 15 de maig participem en el debat sobre drets humans i salut mental: "Identificant estratègies per promoure els drets humans en salut mental" que es durà a terme al Palau de les Nacions (Ginebra). El Consell de Drets Humans de les Nacions Unides, en la seva resolució 36/13, va reconèixer que les persones amb discapacitat psicosocial i persones amb problemes de salut mental i el seu entorn pateixen una gran discriminació, estigma, prejudicis, violència, abús, exclusió social i segregació, institucionalització il·legal o arbitrària, sobremedicació o tractaments que no respecten la seva autonomia, voluntat i preferències. Per abordar aquesta violació dels drets humans, el Consell va decidir celebrar aquest debat en el que professionals de tota Europa presentaran les seves pràctiques i compartiran les seves experiències sobre com estan treballant per capgirar la situació del col·lectiu i garantir els seus drets.
